Usman Yusif Suraj is a circular economy leader, recycling entrepreneur, and climate innovation advocate. He founded GETSO Scraps & Multi-Purpose Company Ltd and launched GETSO WasteConnect to build Africa's digital recycling infrastructure.
His operational experience spans waste recovery, recycling industrialisation, supplier aggregation across the informal sector, and partnerships with regulators, manufacturers, and development institutions.
Under his leadership, GETSO Scraps & Multi-Purpose Company Ltd has verifiably traded & recovered 1,000+ tons of recyclable materials since 2022 and built an active collection & recycling network — laying the operating foundation for a forecasted scale-up to 12,400+ tons recovered, 420+ scenario-based green jobs, and 5,600 modeled tCO₂e avoided across Nigeria and Africa by 2030.
